Energy Corporation of America Provides Full Disclosure of Chemical Additives in Hydraulic Fracturing Process

Determined to continuously improve our practices and providing stakeholder transparency in our operations, Energy Corporation of America (ECA) has announced its participation in “FracFocus”, a hydraulic fracturing chemical registry website.  The website provides disclosure of additives in the hydraulic fracturing process on a well-by-well basis and was developed by the Ground Water Protection Council and the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission with support of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).

The website provides the public with information on hydraulic fracturing, the chemicals used, the purposes they serve and the means by which groundwater is protected.  The public can search for information on a well by location of the well (i.e. state and county), by operator, well name and well identification number.

John Mork, Energy Corporation of America’s CEO commented, “we continually strive to protect and enhance the communities in which we work and live, along with the environment.  FracFocus.org is a step forward in providing transparency in our operations and confidence to our stakeholders about the safety of our operations.”  ECA has uploaded information on wells in Greene County and Clearfield County, Pennsylvania to the national registry.  The Frac Focus website can be viewed at www.fracfocus.org.
