ECA has been active in New Zealand, a focus area for high-potential prospects, since 1995. ECA owns over 1.55 million acres, with a major on-shore gas discovery on the East Coast of the North Island. ECA’s first offshore well was drilled in 2004. Its next offshore well, to be drilled off the West Coast of the North Island, has an estimated 50 million bbls and 0.5 TCF in place.

ECA is also active in prospect generation and evaluation throughout Austral-Asia.
